a fixture list anomaly .............

i mentioned last week that everyday seems to be a mini bank holiday fixture wise ............. well everyday that is apart from a bank holiday !! it strikes me as slightly odd that we have 5 meetings per day on a normal weekday but when most of the country has a day off , only 4 meetings with no jump racing .
a very quiet day all round as family matters took centre stage , first day of the laying service from thebetcollection .

As someone who reads your blog daily im surprised you have taken to proofing other services selections.

I thought the point of the blog was as you described it in your intro. As it has gathered momentum im not surprised other services wish to proof or effectively advertise their wares to those who click on here.

If you had subscribed to the service I would understand it, but unless I am mistaken that is not the case & you are merely advertising another service.

The ironic thing is that this service used to mock services such as Isiris thru its R Post adverts on a Saturday. That is until they lost their subcribers a small fortune through their various servcies.

Fantasic blog, just a bit of a sell out in indirectly accepting advertisements as part of the editorial

hi mr/mrs anon ,i will be totally honest , i suppose i could say its my blog i,ll do as i wish but thats not my style !!! i am always on the look out for additional income streams looking at my figures i would be in a sorry state without mh and my personal trading , so when a offer of a trial comes along i feel in my current circumstances id be pretty stupid to turn it down and hopefully both myself and paul can profit me thru the info and paul via possible customers , sell out thats your opinion but i dont think so or really care all im worried about is the bottom line and so far this year quite frankly im disappointed , my blog is my online diary of my pursuit of £30k , and in this respect nothing has changed , all the best DD.

Hi DD,

Perhaps as a way of showing good faith your guy at this new service would be prepared to offer anyone interested a free trial. End of complaints from the likes of anon then and surely no harm done. Everyone could paper trade for the duration of the free trial or until they'd made their mind up one way or another.

Good luck whatver, just an idea,
EWT

Thanks for your honest & quick response.

If its part of the blog then I dont see it as a sell out. I just hope you are as forthright in your editorial about them as you are the other services - the good the bad and the ugly.

good Luck and Thanks

Dirk this guy proofs his pay results at SP and without commission. That is the biggest con around and can turn very poor losing layers into winners asif by magic.

hi guesser ,
well the proof will be in the pudding so to speak , i had problems downloading the results but this has been rectified and they do look good , so in for a penny in for a pound i will show them in my p/l figs as i lay them at my comm rate which is currently 3.75 % cheers DD.

Just for information, the Bet Collection DO as far as I know offer a free trial of all their services to any interested parties. You should send them an email if you want a free trial..... My only question would be why would you want one???? As a previous poster said, they have lost clients an absolute fortune - They had an absolutely dreadful run, and I have no idea whether or not they have turned the corner. They have also been known under various other names, before relaunching as the Bet Collection, so you can figure out for yourself why that would be. If you are looking for further info, you can put a call out for Conans on the Betfair Forum....

Your blog is so much better than this.

You have taken your time to pick various services for your challenge.

If you are going to highlight TBC you might just as well include Peter Sandrovitch, Spinning Mick, Carl Harris, Coopy & Bob Rothman. They all have one thing in common & 2 things it definitely aint are profit & honesty

well the p/l figs for the laying service look ok to me , i always prefer to watch a film and decide for myself whether its any good rather than rely on the reviewers , and in a similar vein im willing to take my chances here ......... only time will tell !!! you may have the chance in 3 months time to tell me "i told you so" cheers DD.

yes i choose my services carefully but they are not set in stone , i have already stated that im not happy with my p/l so far in 2007 and next year there is every possibility that my portfolio of services will have a different look to it , i was already in the process of setting something else up that will come into action june . "your blog is much better than this " ......... is that you dad ??? sounds just like you !! all the best best DD.

if any isiris members are on here (and it seems a few are!), was I right in hearing a call back time of 8.31?

DIRKDIGGLER said...

yes call back @ 8.31 but i reckon any possible main account will be cancelled as 2 non runners have just been announced , regards DD.

There definitely won't be a main account bet tonight.... and Greg - I would exercise EXTREME caution IF you are intending to lay those horses - seriously - be VERY careful. Guesser has hit the nail on the head - all the results are proofed at SP and not at exchange odds - it's not profitable in the long term. The service you are proofing is given away as a "FREE" service if you subscribe to the Bet Collections other services...

Mark Holder has an interesting take on individual lays .. ie he doesnt do them anymore .. saying that in doing so you are effectively giving an equal chance to all other horses (ie any other horse wins you £50 for a £200 risk etc)

Does anyone know of a profitable lay service ? I ring our other main services losers from time to time at £1.50 /min but I know that has had a torrid 12mths

Thanks

Hi Dirk.

Always a pleasure reading your blog and good to see that the P/l really is doing well at the moment.

I subscribe to Isiris (only back the main accounts) and I'm hopeful of a good run on the main account after a fairly quiet April and beginning of May. Quite a few comments have regarded KB's review messages. I think they are a double edged sword. Personally, I like the concept of reviewing the bets and reviewing the account on a weekly basis. It does give some good knowledge about the thinking behind the bets and, equally importantly, you get the feeling that KB is feeling the ups and downs as much as the members. This makes it pretty different to some services I have been a member of where they barely seem to be emotionally involved in the service and often act as if losing runs aren't happening.

Regarding the Bet Collection, I was a member last year (I now subscribe only to Isiris) and the losing run was absolutely torrid. The main service wiped out the advised betting bank and more (thankfully I packed in when seemed to be going horribly wrong). I don't think they are in the same league as Isiris or (judging by the results on your blog) Mark Holder. I believe that they have traded (at least some of their tipsters were involved with) as Banned Bets before TBC.
