sundays for some reason have not been too successful in 2007 , well i suppose i could probably include monday , tuesday ,wednesday etc etc this year , but today one bet one winner thanks to a maximum account winner from isiris , strange betting activity on the exchanges as it drifted appreciably i didnt see the 4.3 mentioned but i saw 3.9/4.0 and was surprised by the opposition , but given a good positive ride the 9/4 advised winner won well , which after yesterday and last week in general was well received .

in my neck of the woods , for a variety of reasons number one was another poor day p/l wise , there is nothing to report from friday , but the evening was spent at romford dogs it was the annual fund raising night for the retired greyhound association who do a brilliant job in rehoming them after their racing careers , sadly in the past i have not been in a position to take mine home as i have previously lived in flats or rented accomodation and it was not possible to take them home , this has now changed and i look forward to the day when i can bring my greyhound home after a hopefully long and successful career , so i have benefitted from the association and have supported them in many events , but i heard last night that two of my rehomed greyhounds including my first ever had died ,due to cancer and the other was hit by a car , so not a nice start to the night and it didnt get any better , as my girlfriends dog failed to improve on the promise shown on her debut , but she is so young and she was giving in excess of 5 months to over a year in age to all the other dogs and my mates dogs both ran disappointingly so a poor day all round ......................

a loss of £200 from this evenings trip to romford , as i invested £200 on get a grip in the 7.45 romford , missed a beat at the traps and round the tight 400m circuit that means 9/10 that you know your fate by the first bend , and a loss of £200 for me .

now im not looking for excuses but to me this is a factor in my poor returns from the services i use , today i got soaked as well as a losing day , i said earlier this month i would be happy with a £20,000 profit this year well the ways things are at present how about level after expenses !

my day and frustration was set in a 15 minute period 5.00/5.15 pm and again i was left cursing my fortune at present ........... i had received a good word for horseford hill in the 5.00 san and i invested £125 ew @ 7/1 he seemed to me to become outpaced rounding the bottom bend entering the straight and although he stayed on one pace he was never going to make the frame , my second bet was in the 5.10 bath where andrew was keen and backed miss marvellous , well isiris had a selection in the race and i had a saver on sweet request £75 ew @ 15/2 r4 who led inside the last furlong only to be pipped on or very near the lollypop , just about summimg up life "workwise" at present a profit of £65.62 on the race , but a loss of £184.38 on the day ................... oh and to top things up i got a £50 parking ticket this afternoon , what the hell have i done to upset him upstairs !!!!

trying times ...................

nope this is hammer house of horrors .............. im writing this on wednesday afternoon after a disasterous couple of days , im not long in the face or down more numb really , im philosophical about my "occupation" and what i do , if it doesnt eventually work out i,ll do something else i could always upsticks and move to say poland as lets face it the country must be empty with the majority of them over here ! i take a look on the betfair forum from time to time usually for comments on tipping services , i lost my posting rights some time back so i will use my blog to answer cdh - this time last year well 1st august actually i was £16,316 in profit that works out at £2,330 profit per month now i dont lead a extravagant lifestyle my girlfriend works so thats more than sufficient and also which is most important i enjoy what i do , i made in 2006 £32,000 and thats taking into account the expense of the services themselves , if i got a job in the "real world" of say £50,000 which is pretty decent i would not after tax earnt as much as i did in 2006 , so thats why i subscribe to these services . Now unfortunately im experiencing the other side of the coin , please remember i have been doing this since june 2002 as my sole stream of income , and this without doubt has been the worst and most trying of times , its just sods law that i didnt have a blog in the 2002-2006 years , this year has taught me the importance of a betting bank seperate from my daily finances and over the past 5 years it has built up to a decent figure it has come under pressure recently as i take a monthly wage from it ,so my bank is a fair bit lower than say the start of 2007 .
after the disasters of the last couple of days im in PROFIT of £5900 for 2007 , but then when i take into account my expenses which i will do come dec 31st the fig would be approx £3000 so far this year .
i have had a few emails of support today and yesterday and these are very much appreciated , i realise im not alone as we charter through these choppy waters at present ! i actually feel in good spirits i was far worse early 2007 when i started off jan with a near £8000 loss so i know from past experience that the p/l can turn around pretty quickly , a lot of it is down to confidence or should i say the confidence i have in isiris and mark holder to turn the tide back in my favour , this confidence is gained from years of experience of the service they provide , i can imagine if you joined mh on june the 1st your experience and thoughts on his service would not be positive as i have seen my p/l fall from £9,300 to £3200 but i strongly believe that my confidence in mark or kevin is not misplaced and followers will recoup these losses in time , if you persevere , but for new members i realise thats a big call and you may already be saying enough is enough , and i could not blame you for that if honest .
i shall give the p/l figs for tuesday/wednesday now , i realise there is a isiris call back later but im sure it wont be a third account bet .

on the road to recovery ?

i dont want to put the kibosh on optimum racing but they are showing a definite upswing in fortunes over the recent month or so , long may it continue obviously from a personal point of view but also for andrew , a decent genuine bloke highly approachable , and although i realise this doesnt pay the mortgage during his time with mark holder he proved highly profitable , the first 5 1/2 months of this year were nothing short of a disaster but since the end of june his selective approach has paid decent dividends , i was thankful for the optimum winner today with main account losers from isiris and mark holder , on the latter service yes results recently have been disappointing but those of you who were members in january thru to march will know how quickly these losses can be wiped out to show decent profits within a short space of time .



congrats to the scoop6 winner , i have nothing at all against the large staking "findlay" syndicates but chuffed to see a decent small staking punter take the pot today , well done !!

just the one bet this afternoon , i liked the look of prescotts improving filly bee eater in the 6f newmarket sprint , i had £50 @ 5/2 to show a profit of £125 on the day .

gregorys girl made a most encouraging debut last night , 2nd in a decent time 24.88 beaten by a more experienced and older rival , so well pleased with that , now the serious training will start , her diet will change and she will have weekly gallops opposed to just walking , hopefully her next run will be next saturday .

isiris plans 2008 ..................

as today was such a quiet one gambling wise , i thought id mention the plans outlined by isiris for 2008 ,whilst i was away every isiris member should have received the newsletter which contained this news ,i have received quite a few emails asking for my thoughts and whether i,ll be renewing for 2008 . as regular readers of the blog will appreciate the isiris 2008 proposals , are recieved most positively and with open arms so to speak ! i would say pre newsletter i was probably going to renew this has now changed to a definite , infact without going overboard i cant wait for the new system to start and im actually excited about isiris in 2008 , ok i realise that kevin has to still deliver the goods but in this respect i have faith . i really can see no downside and i just hope that the proposals are to be followed with the end of the 15-20 insiders per week , with these replaced by 1-2 special insiders .

on a personal note , saturday evening will see the debut of my girlfriends pup @ romford , in the 8.32 trap 3 gregorys girl (that was definately not my choice btw !!!) in A5 grade she is regarded as a decent prospect by trainer dave mullins who as yet has done little with her other than school who and get her qualified , so hopefully there should be plenty of improvement to come over the coming weeks .

i was kicking myself and this will be the case whatever the result by not getting involved in the 1st test @ lords by laying the draw around the 1.35 level today , i have made decent profits in the past laying the draw on weather concerns but for some reason i held back in this match .
my only action today was in the 7.05 ponte , a dead 8 field and i had the value of 15/2 against a sp of 5/1 on music review £50 ew but like all brilliant ew bets he finished 4th !!!

what did i say about being refreshed .........

well thats gone !!! only kidding you take the rough with the smooth and if you cant handle these ups n downs youre in the wrong game , its not gonna be profit after profit , you learn that very early on . today was the first test of my gambling via the betting shop with the second isiris account bet , it was a struggle but i reckon i fared better in a shop than at home but in the end it didnt really matter but thats not the point , it was also less stressful and saved me £100 on this occassion but that was not through choice as it was obviously a race the bookies were wary of ew bets so i split between 2 shops and just got my second £50 ew on as they left the stalls , i could have tried higher stakes but i was mindful of the make up of the race and didnt want phone calls to head office that would delay me .

had an extended stay in france due to the poor quality fare on offer over here racing wise , and returned to the uk tuesday afternoon , batteries recharged and looking forward to the rest of 2007 , one decision i made whilst i was away is that im no longer using the laying service , it has produced a small profit for me so confounding the cries of doom from many people (or was it just the 1 person?) who said i was on the road to the poor house even contemplating getting involved with it , but with me now betting via the shop route it would involve me phoning betfair/betmate up for my orders yes this can be done but i feel this service is best utilsed via your laptop/pc also the message comes on line at a busy time for me where i will be placing bets so thats the end of that , many thanks for the trial paul .
the poor racing quality wise continued today and there were no racing activity , but some successful bets from optimum sport on the 20/20 matches .
on a personal note , i hadsome good news tuesday regarding my greyhound pup , called gregorys girl .................... that was not my choice !!! she won her trial on tuesday @ romford by 6 1/2 lengths in a time of 24.96 which was way too fast !!! out of the window goes my touch in bottom grade .................

friday 6th july ....................

have spent some time in devon , portwinkle to be exact not too far from torpoint or plymouth one of the highlights of the time spent here was that my mobile phone had no coverage , it was bliss , did some decorating and other bits on a house my mate has bought and had a couple of rounds of golf , have done a lot of thinking with regard my current situation and where i go from here .

i have ruled out getting to £30,000 this year , but am looking to reach £20,000 by year end to salvage something from 2007 , in doing that i will be making a few changes , in previous years i have relied on mark holder , isiris main account bets and my personal trading/interpretation to reach my figure , this year i spread my wings to include optimum(andrew had previously worked with mh) , isiris insiders , laying serice from tbc and now optimum sport , the latter two have so far had a negligble effect on my pl although i have been too agressive on my staking plan with optimum sport £50/pt is too much , this will be halved on my return , the laying service is showing a small profit and does not resemble the nightmare service that i was warned it would turn out to be as yet .

optimum racing has had a torrid time of it , i have a s/l of £10,000 with this service if that is breached then i will stop using them .

isiris insiders , these will be stopped for a variety of reasons , but number 1 is due to the difficulty of "getting on"in general , on my return i will be using the shops to get my bets on for mh & the isiris main account , to have any chance of making a profit from these insider bets you need access to the likes of the smaller independent internet operations as i will be in the shops for main account bets when the message from isiris is released i will not be in aposition toaccess the prices in a swift & prompt manner from the likes of sporting odds , neville porter , stan james etc etc- i am fighting a losing battle of using the net/phones to get my isiris main account or mark holder bets on , i rely heavily on stan james who are most accomodating take them away and i would struggle , i have 6 shops in a 1 mile radius of my home so the shop route will be used from now on , im not a believer of 3/4/5 bets in a day i prefer the selective approach of the main account from isiris , thats why i joined isiris , if i am in the position i will use the insider bets as a trading/arbing opportunity thats what i shall do in future .

to see the back of june 2007 , hopefully life will get easier and my p/l improve from this time onwards but whatever happens i will always remember june2007 as a truly awful month and if improvement is forthcoming and good days outnumber the bad i will think this month above any other will serve as a remainder of what may lie around the next corner and act as a buffer against me letting my enthusuiasm run away with me .
i had friday, saturday and sunday off , from the emails i received i was fortunate in my timing as the services had a poor three days , someone suggested i should feel ecstatic at missing the losing bets , but i honestly dont , i realise it will work the other way at some stage its impossible to follow and back every selection , i like to have a break/holiday and there is every chance that fortunes will be reversed at some stage during the year , secondly i prefer to see my services perform well as with most things in life success breeds confidence , and im a great believer that confidence plays a huge part in gambling and the outcome of life in general and lastly over the course of me starting the blog i have come into contact via the blog of some genuine and likeable folk who use these services and i dont like to think of them doing their dough .

july2nd - july 16th
im taking my main holiday in september but next week im going over to france to stay with some family , so i will be out of action then , this week i have offered to help out a mate , normally i would have only offered my services perhaps today and sunday , but with the weather still unsettled , i really do think this is a major factor in the awful month of june i have decided to help him , i will not be in a position to back the isiris insiders but i hope to back the main account bets , its not an ideal situation but im happy to take the risk , so until the 16th july there will not be a update from me everyday , all bets will be recorded but i may batch 2/3 days together .
