i had a difficult and trying time during the afternoon and i needed a beer and time to unwind in the evening , i popped round a mates for a beer or two and to watch the odi between england/india , my mate had backed england @ 1.92 and after dismissing india for 212 he was understandably confident .............. but englands reply did not go to plan and although the run rate was no problem continually losing wickets was , this was not due to brilliant bowling englands shot selection and technique were to blame , i decided to get involved when the captain collingwood was needlessly run out leaving england 114/7 , with our last hopes bopara and broad at the crease , well stuart broad was initially a promising batsman like his father but as he grew he took to bowling like a duck to water but he still has ambitions to become a decent number 7/8 in time and bopara has never looked back since carting my distinctly average legspin to all corners a good few years back in a hainault cc cricket week as a 13/14 year old !!! , and in conversation with graham gooch back in 2003 he told me he was the best batting prospect he had ever seen at essex and that included alastair cook who is a few months older but bopara needed to mature as a person before he began to fulfil his true potential , well the winter addition to the world cup squad and his performances had done much to bring him on , and i decided to now put my faith in these two youngsters laying india £500 @ 1.18 a liability of £90 and the stress of my afternoon was slowly erased as these two defied their inexperience to comfortably see england home , and in the process give me a profit of £477.50 .

the slow but sad demise of the oncourse betting market ............

thats my opinion after going racing on tuesday , i admit lingfield on the all weather with a poor card is not a true representation of the strength of the on course market , but on tuesday there was a fair crowd but no proper punters from my observations ok mr curley was there but his business was conducted much earlier no tic tacs , tissues or twist cards the betting ring even with barry dennis in attendance lacked any colour or vibrancy , where have all the characters gone ? the oncourse prices were purely n simply a reflection minus abit of the prices on betfair ,prices were adjusted (lowered) when a price on the exchange came under pressure so a regular sight was prices scrubbed without a bet being struck , i appreciate that if they didnt follow the exchange moves then the arbers would appear but the betting ring is a sad reflection of the place i once worked and learnt so much as a teenager in the early 80,s and the evolution of exchanges now threatens the on course market , why should serious punters go to the track especially for the lesser meetings where the market is so weak and liquidity a major problem ? but i enjoyed my day out with good company and for once the weather was kind but my days out to the races i believe will be confined to "social days out" in the future .

i had told all who asked that i really fancied my girlfriends bitch gregorys girl to run well at romford this evening , with greyhounds in a straight graded race you cant say THIS WILL DEFINATELY WIN especially with young pups but as long as she broke from the traps on level terms with her rivals she would win , she is a decent prospect as she demonstrated last night with an all the way 3length success in the second best time of the night and she is just 18 months old , fingers crossed that she stays sound . i left for the track and had £200 @ sp i was expecting her to be a 2/1 or thereabouts as she was unlucky in defeat last time out , traffic delayed me and we made the race with minutes to spare and the bookies had her @ 3/1 so i had a £100 @ the price , which gave a nice return of £900 profit and a girlfriend excited and in tears !!!!

a totally bet free weekend ............

and with my garden after the recent rain looking like the long lost amazon rain forest i took advantage of the quiet couple of days to explore and tidy up my back garden , no need to try and find a bet as the week had been pretty profitable and im happy to take that , my figures show a profit on the week of £5012.73 , the main contributor being the 12/1 winner ho pang yau on tuesday , that gives me a figure on THE30KCHALLENGE ........................ £14,561.59

in my days as ...............

a foreign exchange dealer a few years back an early achilles heal of mine was after a profitable day ..................... the day in question i had taken on the all the market could give , had come up trumps gone out that night with colleagues and brokers alike to the fancy bars around liverpool street , celebrating going over my master strokes of the day and how i had made many thousands .................. pretty pathetic really !!! my problem was over confidence and the next day i felt that i was superman and could do no wrong .............. MISTAKE !!! and 9/10 i ended up trading like nick leesons brother and losing most of the previous days hard earned gains , but after time i come to realise that the day after a decent day is to play conservatively and go to work with a hard nosed mentality , you aint gonna get it back attitude .

you can draw parallels with what i do now and today was going to be hopefully a quiet consolodating day , mr booth of isiris is an advocate of this approach and one which i agree with 110% .

you join the likes of isiris , optimum and mark holder to make your betting profitable following their advised selections but if all you do is note the bets and ring off you are in my opinion missing a vitally important part of their service , which is gambling education do,s n dont,s of the gambling world to make your betting experience more profitable . i appreciate mr booth is lets say a "character" not everyones cup of tea but as ive stated before the racing advisory world be a poorer place without him and most important to remember is that he is without doubt most knowledgeable on gambling , the mathmatics and percentages of betting as is andrew and mark , so for novices of betting and a few have contacted me recently it will be worthwhile listening to messages throughout , take notes and if something does not make sense ask the person or email me , i dont class myself as a know it all betting wise far from it but if i dont know the answer i would confidently bet long odds on i know someone who does .

yes the p/l obviously a profit of over £2000 on the day making over £5000 this week is personally much needed but the victory of john bests kingsgate native in the nunthorpe really pleased me although i had no financial interest in the race , i have had shares in 4 horses with john since the late 1990,s with varying degrees of success i might add , i sold my last interest in a horse with him last year but that was not down to him , i didnt agree with some of the racing decisions with the horse and offered my share for sale which was quickly bought , but i have always found john most approachable , genuine and hardworking and he deserves all the success that comes his way , well done jb !!!!

2 bets , 2 winners the first was in the lingfield 2.35 this morning looking over the cards i noticed perfect paula in the first , well she ran well last time out @ newbury on saturday beaten 2 necks by cake into 3rd , cake who ran so well yesterday at york so the form was rock solid and perfect paula is in tip top form aslong as she has come out of the race well , i was confident she would get home even with top weight and that she would blitz them for speed she is much better class than the rest and lead all the way , but i was expecting evens or therebouts (that would have been a no bet ) and she was until just before the first show she drifted to quite a degree and i had £75 on at 3.00 on the exchanges , a unbelievable move but then the support emerged and she was returned a even money favourite , leading all the way ................. just !
my second bet was in the 2.50 stratford i was looking to back joe lively ew @ 3/1 , a cracking ew race with many runners not in with a squeak , i was keen to take on the fav double deputy my thinking being that he may be in decline and finds little under pressure , blue square were 11/4 so i bagged £50 ew at the price and was going to have more if the selection touched 3/1 , as isiris members know this did not happen ! and joe lively romped away to an easy success and for me a profit of £308.25 on the day .

not much to report .................

after the success of yesterday , i lost £250 on the day , £100 @ 7/4 on swiss franc in the 2.00 york and never looked comfortable to my eyes , initially i was trying to get £400 @ 7/4 and was going to arb it but was onlyallowed £100 so i kept it as i did expect the horse to win , the other £150 was lost in the last where i took 3 against the field £50 on valerie borzov @ 6.2 , morinqua @ 13 and special day @ 13 , in running they all traded considerably shorter and ran well especially the latter , close but no cigar !!!

i have decided to have a day out at the races next tuesday , so if my previous form is anything to go by local residents of lingfield can expect hurricane dirk by monday evening , failing that a monsoon of tewkesbury proportions im afraid ....................... the reason for my pessimism on the weather front is well founded going by my previous intended racing days this year all washed out . the post are offering a deal of £5 for admission , racecard and a pint for racing at lingfield tomorrow and next tuesday so if anyone fancies it or are already going send me an email , if you give me all the beer vouchers i,ll even get the first round in !!!!!!!!

not the latest edition to my local chinese take away but a much welcome and needed 12/1 winner in the 5.45 perth , the change in my p/l reporting is quite timely as i would have been embarrassed to include the profit under my personal trading account , the majority of readers will be well aware of the source of this winner , but any confusion can be quickly erased by a personal email to me on raceto30k@hotmail.co.uk and i will be more than happy to divulge the source of the information , a profit of £3600 was attained with £250 ew @ 12/1 .
again i had problems with "getting on " with the optimum sport selections on the top bat markets and if this continues i will have to re evaluate how i use the information received , they put up 2 bets in top bat markets , sachin tendulkar 4 pts @ 4/1 with skybet , logged on and was offered £2.50 !!!! so i phoned up only to be told my account was internet only , so i was stuffed there , the next best price was 3/1 and i refused to take that , perhaps i will try betbrokers next time to see if they have any more success , so with me not getting the 4/1 on sachin i decided not to place the bet on shah to be top england bat in the series which was a result as he did not play and with cook & bell both scoring tons and a tidy england victory , only a injury can see shah play an immediate part in this one day series , an england victory was a good start to the advice to back england in the series@ 6/4 or bigger on the exchanges but being a 7 match series a long way to go yet .

an 11/2 optimum winner missed ....................

on friday , was the lowlight of the day for me , sods law , you forget one call back in a blue moon an you miss a 11/2 winner victorian bounty !!! felt like a kick in the teeth i can tell you , friday was hectic as i took a trip up the M1/M6 to stafford .............. my girlfriends daughter is a top gear fast car junkie and would be able to discuss the spec on any ferrari , aston martin , lambourghni etc etc with clarkson and his mob , and for her 21st birthday we bought her a driving experience so she could take a spin in a ferrari and lambourghni , this was saturday , but as we had to be their for 8.30 in the morning we travelled up friday evening , journey was not too bad but the evening call back was forgotten and the winner missed !!!!



i have decided not to quote my services individual p/l figures from now on , just my bottom line , many reasons for this but i want my blog to be a fair reflection of the services and the individual p/l figures just fail to do this , take isiris they are showing a p/l profit of just over £1500 but through trading my profit gained from the service is nearer £4500 ,optimums figure would be close to break even or profit if i had carried on with my initial staking and including fridays winner , my personal profit stands at £7500 but this is 90% down to isiris,mh & optimum through trading and interpretation of the daily message .



then there are holidays and missed messages it is unrealistic to expect that you will be able to make every message although friday was a mistake on my part i accept , but you have to realise that call backs will occassionaly be missed so this distorts the figure but this can work for or against , just happens friday worked against me ! but then this afternoon my discipline saved me £150 , optimum sport put up two bets on the cricket glamorgan v yorkshire on the top bat markets ryan watkins 2 points @ 14/1 or 12/1 well i was unable to get either price as extrabet had cut to 8/1 and boylesports have closed my various accounts , the next best for me was 8/1 aprice i refused to take as i couldnt get on at an acceptable price so i kept my powder dry so to speak and i felt uneasy leaving one part of the bet and backing the other election , so rightly or wrongly i decided to hold back and not take the 5/1 on craig white to top score for yorks , this proved the correct decision as they made 1 & 0 respectively and saved me £150 in total



so i will continue to keep my own personal diary/record of bets and i will continue to mention the individual bets of my blog , but there will be no individual figs on here , if anyone wants my figs then please feel free to email me .

i arbed biased opinion in the 2.45 wolv i had £50 ew @ 16/1 & 14/1 laying back @ 12.25/2.86 respectively giving me a potential profit of £375 in the win mkt £114 in the place market and a comm loss of £9 if out the frame , the £9 loss was the result but i will take those outcomes any day of the week , year , decade etc etc !

a trip to romford in the evening to see my girlfriends pup gregorys girl run in the 7.42 , after last weeks success in an a6 race she had been raised to a5 , we were hopeful as she has improvement in her to cope with the raise but not for the first time her trapping was less than perfect but she did show decent track craft and good pace to finish 2nd , but a bet of £150 @ 5/2 was left in the traps so a loss of £159 on the day .

a disappointing end to the week .......................

BUT a week that shows a profit of just over £900 so cant complain , im writing this monday afternoon and unfortunately it does not look good for punters owed money by premierbet and heathorns , as the holding company had their shares suspended on friday and today both sites are "down" due to maintenance work with lines not being answered at both companies im told , especially sad if this is the end of heathorns who were once a well run and respected family run firm , i still think that its nothing short of fraud and bang out of order that these companies have been allowed to freely trade and tempt new customers with bonus offers during the last few months when they have been blaming a new processing system on the failure to deliver withdrawals which is clearly a lie , they have had a "cash flow" problem ............ no id go further than that they are skint . i had accounts with both companies i managed to get my money back from heathorns some time ago they did blame a processing problem for a delay but i have a ante post cricket bet thats like to kop so probably another non payment to add to my roll of dishonour joining luvbet and riobet .

nothing doing from my "services" but i got involved in 2 races the 2.40 newbury were i backed starlit sands £175 @ 2.20 beaten into 4 th , the pundits on racing uk suggested that a faster strip of ground down the middle of the course was to blame for the defeat , im not so sure , id be wary of starlit sounds as i think she may of peaked form wise and may be regressive after this showing . i got too heavily involved in my next play but thanfully no damage was done , the 4.10 don i made a 2 horse affair the fav broomielaw and alpes maritme , the latter being a knocking ew bet but i missed the little bit of 4/1 that was available , 4.5 was under pressure on the exchanges so i decided to try and arb this , in the win mkt he was trading 4.6/4.7 and place 1.51/1.52 so i had £250 ew @ 7/2 and i put some orders in to lay in the win mkt @ 4.1/4.3 but the support from 5.6 to 4.6 dried up and the price rebounded drifting to 5/1 at one stage so i was left with £250 ew @ 7/2 i relieved to scrap a 3rd place and small loss of £75 on the race , making a £250 loss on the day .

a £65 win double on jedediah 2.50 san @ 11/10 & colwyn bay 4.50 sal @ 13/8 , why £65 ? i just had that in an account but now i have £358.31 as it was successful , and in the 4.25 bev jilly why £150 ew @ 6/1 , done no favours at the start , on another day seb could have been catapulted out of the saddle , but 2nd and a £75 profit making £368.31 on the day .

a quiet day with my first interest in the 4.00 salisbury but it got off to a decent start , isiris had put up promising lead in this race and i had £150 @ 7/2 , the price held steady , actually on the exchanges i noticed it trading at 4.9 15 mins or so before the off , but support emerged and it was sent off a strong 5/2 second fav i layed £150 @ 4.0 and another winner for the bang in form isiris team and a £75 profit for myself . my selection mccartney was running in the 6.20 hamilton and it had been relatively weak all day the bookies put it in as a 8/11-4/5 shot but the smaller internet firms followed the drift on the exchanges to quote evens , i dont have enough confidence in myself and doubts started to creep in , i need not have worried as mccartney was the easiest winner of the day scooting up by 7lengths and i had invested £200 @ 2.32 on the returned 6/4 fav , a nice day with a profit of £327.12 .

for the isiris insiders on tuesday , backed into a sp of 6/1 2nd fav always travelling well and easily accounted for the fav maree hall , i won on the race as i arbed the selection but after the race i was obviously wishing id kept some of the bet , talk about aftertimimg !!
what was i saying about spurs resembling a pub side ............ relegation battle on saturday versus derby a real 6 pointer !!!! i love my sport , enjoy playing cricket and watching that aswell as football , but this evening on my way to the lane left a sour taste in my mouth and to put it bluntly pissed me off big time , walking to the ground past a pub a hundred or so spurs supporters and 3 everton supporters a girl and 2 blokes , im on the other side of the road and i see a bloke in a spurs shirt go past her and throw the contents of his bottle over her and went back into the pub presumeably to get another round in to a chorus of applause n cheers , well i have recently been to the cricket 20/20 finals and the last day of the test at the oval on both occasions plenty of banter between rival supporters and all good natured without a whiff of trouble , first home game of the season and i see this , pathetic ! and thats the supporter i saw and those who cheered plus the team as well ..........................

as already mentioned i arbed ardent sauvage i had £50 ew @ 14/1 laying the £50 back at 11.66 and 2.486 , the victory earnt me £232.70 . optimum played in the 6.30 muss and andrew mentioned that on his tissue he had the 15/8 - 2/1 fav choisette as a 7/2 chance , my bookmaking upbringing has instilled the belief that if you constantly lay 2/1 a 7/2 chance you will win in the long run , of course there will be losses along the way , i placed an order to lay choisette @ 2.90 but he drifted out to the tissue price that andrew mentioned , actually touching 4/1 at one stage so thankfully my order was unfilled as choisette bolted up .

at just after 9pm last night ...................

i flicked over to sky sports news , and my immediate thought was ............. "can we start this football season again !" on saturday my beloved spurs played as if they were a pub side devoid of invention or ideas and got beat by a goal in the 90th minute, the 2 saturday football bets had gone down the pan and on monday evening both the backed teams were a goal behind .......... i didnt dwell much on the football went back to the tv programme i was watching , flicked back to sky sports at ten and ................ oi oi happy days !! kilmarnock had scored in the 87th min to record a 2-1 victory and provide a winning isiris main account bet .
had a most enjoyable day @ the oval watching the last day of test cricket in england for 2007 , india were good value for their series win , although england can count themselves unfortunate to lose the last 2 crucial tosses and the weather scuppered certain victory @ lords , but india did well as a unit especially the seam bowlers who complimented each other well , with very little cricket played in the warm up matches and in conditions so different to back home , the indians did brilliantly to adapt and compete in the 3 match series .

it was my birthday yesterday , had a lovely evening and was spoilt rotten and it seemed to carry on today with a nice present from isiris ................ i stopped the insiders early june and have no worries with that decision , it has made my life a lot easier as i was struggling to get on at the advertised prices , i will try to trade them if and when i can get the prices to reasonable sums of money , today was a quiet day i returned from the betting shop and had a look at the isiris insiders for today and for some reason i had a £25 ew double on ernie owl @ 10/3 and sforzando @ s/p , i would have taken the 4/1 but the price changed as i tried to place the bet ................... well happy days on all counts as both won with sforzando @ a sp of 6/1 !!! and a return of £862.50 to produce a profit of £812.50 .
ALL 3 ISIRIS INSIDERS WON so hopefully a few members inculded them in a multiple bet advised prices of 7/2 - 9/4 - 4/1 a treble of in excess of 72/1 or at sp it was 59/1 either way a brilliant day for isiris insider followes ........................ 100 renewals by the end of the week !!!

my main observation is this , 2008 has been a difficult year for punters the weather unsettled and i dont care what anyone says this has had an adverse effect on the advisory services as mh has freely admitted he is enduring his poorest spell in many a year , so isiris are certainly not alone in admitting the p/l figs for the year are disappointing , the service offered by isiris is not everyones cup of tea , i can accept that with various call backs , difficulty of getting on , cancelled bets , and kevins eccentric ways etc etc but i feel the betting/tipping world would be a poorer and duller place without mr booth and isiris , i havnt as yet subscribed for 2008 but i will in due course , perhaps tonights message was meant as a kick up the arse for the likes of me .

i am genuinely looking forward to 2008 with isiris with the new proposals , selectivity is the ONLY way to go if you want sustained profits and i feel fairly confident that we shall see the new format of isiris in 2008 , my cheque will be in the post by the end of the month .............. only another 46 to go !!!!!!!!

but ultimately unsuccessful , but no worries we are not going to win every battle , the first isiris main account bet looked home for all money but in the end a 16/1 winner (won easily) beat us but it was right to oppose the well supported fav who was beaten some way out again it was the case that the selection from isiris drifted on the exchanges trading around 9/2 and 4/5 win n place , the second main account bet never looked like being profitable and it was a relief in my neck of the woods to scrap into 3rd .

a busy afternoon with isiris main account bets so i was out n about in the shops for most of it , but in the first @ windsor i had £100 ew @ 12/1 agilete praying there would be no n/rs as 16 were declared , i laid the £100 ew on the fair @ 11/2.67 win/place giving me a nice win if successful and only a small comm loss if not , agilete was held up after slowly away but made steady headway to finish a profitable 3rd giving me a profit of £128.50 .

it appears that some people have jumped to the conclusion that the reason for me not recording the bets from mark holder is due to the recent results of the service and that mark asked me to stop reporting his bets due to this , thats understandable but totally wrong . mark would be totally happy for me to record his bets on my blog if i was member/subscriber of his service but due to my change in working enviroment this month that is no longer the case , nothing more nothing less .

a marvellous day out , just returned from birmingham , left on friday afternoon and i really cant fault the day , yes a few lads get a little over boisterous but thats only a couple out of many thousand , the game may not supported by cricket purists but i just love my cricket in any form . i went to the 20/20 finals day last year as a supporter of essex but we decided that we would attend this years final whoever was present . we arrived at our hotel friday evening at 6.30 had a quick shower and down to the hotel bar only to see the players from 2 of the finalists kent and gloucestershire spirits were friendly and had a chat to a few of the players who even offered us some spare tickets . this trip caused a few problems though as i was travelling along the m1/m6 on friday evening at the time of the isiris main account bet , i knew that with the phone as my only way of placing bets i would face difficulty in getting on and would not get the advertised price and this was the case but my only other option was to pass over the bet , i decided to take my luck with the phone ..................
a fine couple of days for optimum racing with winners at sps of 3/1 & 7/2 , the 3/1 winner city affair won in the colours of optimum members and hearty congratulations to them on their cosy victory , well done to all connections .

it is perhaps unfair to mention these two "bookmakers" in the same breath but i wish to comment on the two , the most serious and worrying situation currenty for some online punters is the continued non payment of withdrawal requests by premierbet , they are constantly blaming a payment processing problem but surely this line is wearing a little thin and it is time for someone associated with the company or interactive gaming holdings to be straight with their customers , just imagine the uproar if your bank refused your withdrawal , would they be allowed to continue trading ? i doubt it but there is no warning on the premierbet website of withdrawal processing problems , they are quite happy to show a £250 bonus to new customers though !!!! so worrytimes for premierbet customers , personally i think its a disgrace that they are allowed to freely take money off any unsuspecting customers even enticing new people with a bonus but try getting your money withdrawn ........... the betting industry is not shown in a good light here and there should be a bold warning on their site explaining the withdrawal problems , lets hope for the customers that these "withdrawal processing problems" are just that , otherwise punters could see their money disappear just as in previous instances with riobet , luvbet and burns ...................
now on to bet365 , the online firm who everyday seem to have a advert in the post .......... i did not have a lot of time today but i did have one small interest , not a great lover of backing odds on , but i just could not see the godolphin hot pot rio de la plata getting turned over , i invested £130 @ 8/11 to record a minor profit of £94.54 on the day .

nothing at all on monday a total blank day , a little bit of action today none of which was profitable though , nice to see a settled weather forcast this week and hopefully business will pick up in terms of activity and profit as we go thru the week .

this blog is at something of a crossroads , it could be going up a dead end that would mean it ceasing , im entering a new venture in respect of my gambling that will be coming into effect within the next 10 days or so , mark holder has requested that i no longer include his results in my blog , this will of course be adhered to .

a loss of £250 on the day , £150 during the day £100 in the evening at goodwood and peterborough respectively a slight difference in the venues ! i had received positive news of arabian gleam in the betfair cup ........... wished it was for the noseda runner in the next but arabian gleam it was i had £75 ew @ 12/1 and although out of the frame he ran a race full of promise and was definately a horse that was unlucky today and one to keep on the right side of in future . in the evening my mates the conkers had 3 runners at hove and peterborough , kilpine champ at hove on the sky card and litter brothers slug city and conker all in the /eterbrough derby , out of the 3 we had a 7/1 winner in conker all were we on ,nope ! we were on slug city ............................. £100 @ 7/2 .
