16TH MAY 2007 WORST DAY EVER ........

p/l wise , an unwanted full house during the afternoon and the evening bet did nothing to lighten my mood definately the worst day of the year p/l wise and looking back at last years figs this may be a record breaking day but for all the wrong reasons ...................... days like today when you miss the security of a 9-5 job !!!!! but still up on the year and dont forget i was nearly £9,000 down at one stage but understandably a little down tonight . a truly awful afternoon mirroring the weather outside , no it was much worse than anything outside , not even international rescue from thunderbirds can get me out of this hole today i was hoping for hobson to recoup some but he ran a terrible race perhaps the delay in the stalls didn,t help but this run tonight was a backward step from his debut run .
so it looks like today was my worst day punting ever p/l wise with a loss of £2376 on the day ....... but over the last week wed/wed i am in profit of £110 , that puts it into perspective , i think !

perhaps i should have realised what was in store for me after my two bets on the 1.45 york 2 x £37.50 ew on pevensey (10/1) and collatoral damage (10/1) ............. the stalls opened two were basically left by 8l ................ yes the two i backed , a loss of £150 . well roll on tomorrow ..........

Hi DD,

You know better than anyone that in this game you have good and bad days. I have a phrase I often use with regards to work, "every time someone says no to me it just means I'm closer to the next time someone will say yes". In the same way this can be applied to punting. IF you are disciplined, selective, professional and you have some sort of idea what you're doing (obviously you do) then a bad day like today simply means you're a step closer to the next good day. I am surprised that all of your "advisors" were punting today though. As you've probably seen on my blog I left today alone for the reasons given. All the best, good luck,

Cheers,
Eachway Thief.

Hi Mate

A truly awful one today ... worked my rocks off as well (not that Id deserve any sympathy from my corporate mates etc)

Ran round the shops like a lunatic hoovering up prices (guarantee still in existence with mine) Layed Soldiers Tale on Betfair last night at 6.9 average for huge expecting it to drift back today etc etc etc.

Everything in place ... So many good positions, so much adrenalin then Race 1 Pevensey loses 8 lenghts as you say & at the end of it alll not even BFH, as Jim Bowen used to say on Bullesye.

Makes me even more determined to enjoy the great days

Stay happy

mr/mrs anom - easy to have a pop after a day like yday but lets look at the figs until 30th april £9,700 in profit i realise you have to take into acc the cost of the services this will be done at year end but but £9.700 after 4 months thats £2425 per month thats the equivalent of a job paying not far off £50k in the real world , perhaps you are one of the city highflyers earning £250k a year ...... if so good luck to you i hope you are happy !!!! as i said in my post my worst day ever but over the last week im still £110 up , its fair to say 2/3 of my services are not performing to their normal standards so far this year , i realise there is the possibility that this will continue but i think not , but taking their performance into account and im still £8000 after black wednesday , regards DD.

Dirk,

Keep up your blog- great reading.

Past performance with these services has no bearing on there future performance. This might sound obvious at first but bear in mind there is a certain pressure to perform when the chips are down. In these circumstances they behave differently as the pressure gets to them. Occasionally they do irrational things and then look for an explanation why? In the cold light of days its normally the pressure of the situation that has resulted in them doing it but they dont always accept this.

You can liken it to a horse which likes to cruise in the lead on the bit. If it gets challenged it starts to behave differently and runs a different type of race.

Lets hope your services have blinkers on and can concentrate on the job in hand.

Best of luck.

Paul

There are some tossers out there aren't there Dirk?

This game is about turnover. If you bet in tenners, you get sweet FA. You have to risk it, and of course there are going to be bad days. What separates the winners from the losers, is that the winners will do exactly the same tomorrow regardless of what happened today; win or lose.

Most people who bet, cry like babies the first time that anything goes against them. They haven't got the strength of character to see it through. From what I've read Dirk you are an exception.

You deserve all the success you get. And remember most people envy your lifestyle, it's just they haven't got the balls to do it!

As you say, be lucky.

yes there is a lot disgruntled followers of the service , but to his credit kb freely admits that he is unhappy with the service at present , lets hope that the work he is putting in at present to improve results bears fruit in the upcoming months , regards DD .

Hi Mate

Fingers crossed that May 16th remains your worst day ever.

As at 6.45 on Thursday evening we really need a lift

Here's hoping May 17th is somehow better
