whatever happened to the likely lads ............

a humourous sitcom with rodney bewes and jame bolam from the 1970,s last night i was reminded of a particular episode that must have been repeated as i would have been only 7 when first shown but i was looking forward to a few beers down the pub and watching the england match , mrs d was off to the gym after work and was going to join me at half time . late afternoon plans changed and we were called into babysitting duty , i was gonna still go down the pub but decided with a possible main account bet later on i would stay in . we had cable a year back but after incessant arguments over what we were to watch between the clan i decided to pull the plug on it , it suits me now to listen to the test match on the radio and watch the highlights , yes i miss it at times but not the bickering ! so we decided to watch the apprentice then news and watch the football without knowing the score , i was a sight when logging onto the bookies sites around 9pm with my hand covering most of the screen as i didnt want to see any i/r betting or score , the news came on when they told us to look away if you dont wanna see the score three of us started singing and looked away !!! the match came on we were safe we had reached our goal of not knowing the score ......... then my partners daughter came in (we didnt hear her) and blurted out ............... 3 NIL GREAT GOAL FROM COLE !!!! we did not know whether to laugh or cry all three of us then started to giggle like kids it was a sight , i suppose it could have been worse the match could have been fogged off !!!

my only other bet was a £37.50 ew double the first leg was bengal bullet a highly fortunate 3rd @ 8/1 in the 2.40 na , the second leg was shavansky @ 11/1 in the 8.30 sandown who sadly let the bet down , a small profit of £80.20 on the day , i have layed the draw for £125 @ 3.8 approx in the test starting today @ lords .
