mh was non too keen on the fav warsaw pact at the prices in the 2.40 exeter , preferring the chances of master wells , in a good race to have an ew bet i invested £75 ew @ 9/2 , with isiris also opposing the fav with qualify i decided to back the sheena west trained gelding £50 ew @ 11/2 . well qualify lost any chance with a bad hurdling blunder but master wells was always in the front rank ................until close home that is where he lost 3rd !! so a loss of £250 . i was going to oppose felinious but a few points meant that i thankfully resisted , i am trying to cut out laying after listening to advice from someone much shrewder than i can hope to be , i certainly have never had much joy laying anything ridden by ap the bloke is a genius head and shoulders above his weighing room colleagues and lastly i was £250 in arrears and for a quiet nondescript day thats enough , i,ll raise the white flag on the day and recommence the battle tomorrow !
what a wise decision , as i say the bloke is different gravy .....................

have followed the blog since inception and delighted you are well under way now to reach your goal,sincere good luck in reaching the target.
I would be very interested in the words of wisdom what were passed on to you re laying, if you have the chance let me know as i am and have been finding this an achilles heal for some time now,maybe the logic would rub off on me,

i have been an active exchange user since mid 2000 , and i had a rather blinkered view of them for many years , using them as a laying tool as most of my bets are ew and as the place odds on the exchange are inferior i rarely use them for my bets from my services . with the advent of exchanges it was my chance to become a bookmaker something that had been previously denied unless i bought a shop or racecourse pitch and i used the exchange to lay .
but lets think of the great value in exchanges and that is BACKING as each race close to the off is priced up to within the range of 100.50% and 102.50% and if you take the best prices within the 15 mins b4 the off i imagine that you would be looking at betting well "overbroke" less than 100% more like 85/90 % , the best way to explain this is thru the spinning coin scenario its evens each of 2 , if suddenly you get offered 5/4 a head or tail you are betting overbroke and cant lose in the long run .
i just feel that using the exchanges in your betting armoury is best utilised for backing rather than laying , generally with laying horses you are playing with the odds against you .
