yesterday i was counting my lucky stars when michael hills took it easy inside the last and just held on more by luck than judgement to retain a much needed 3rd place , well today it was turn of twin brother richard to show why their runners imho should be backed sparingly and with a wealth warning ............ backing this horse could seriously damage your wealth ! im not saying for one moment the horse would have won , the winner showed a nice turn of foot at a vital stage in the race but backers of deira dubai (2.20 ponte) were never in with a chance the way the race panned out .
third losing day on the trot since my return ............ why didnt i have 3 weeks off !!!

a loss of £150 on the day for me , a couple of 16 runner handicaps at fontwell and mh mentioned a couple to keep on your side , in the first at 3.10 it was lanos so i invested £75 ew @ 8/1 , not much of a run pulled up in fact but in selling grade i feel the horses tend to run with less consistency so poor runs have to be expected .
the second bet was to be in the lucky last but i shall rename it the frustrating last , a withdrawal during the afternoon reduced the field to 15 and the ew value went out of the window , the new independent shop would be of no use as 1) i was at home and 2) the bet has to be placed before the nr is announced and this was not the case ,the selection was to be kyathos £75 ew @ 14/1 , well backed into 8/1 at one stage on the run up the hill to the line i thought he was going to prevail and really hack me off !!! but the game winner held on by 1/2 length .
lets hope for better tomorrow .
