next tuesday cant come too soon ................

as the poor fare on offer at present just is not inspiring or exciting me , i am usually enthusiastic regardless of the racing on offer but i admit for one reason or another im struggling to stay upbeat over the last day or so ................... perhaps i need a holiday but that wont happen until the bottom line improves , a poor day p/l wise did little to cheer me up , although i have started to read back from the brink by paul mcgrath which much to the annoyance of the mrs im struggling to put down !

PERSONAL TRADING

not much to report MH was keen to oppose oleolat in the seller @ 4.00 but he was 5/1 top price withthe bookies and trading @ 8/1 on betfair so i swerved him although he was beaten into 5th i believe , i have added a trade to my cheltenham portfolio by going long of aggregate winning sp s in the 24 races @ 290 , last year the make up was 349.05 and i feel the downside is very much limited with the ground conditions testing i could see a few surprise results next week .

good afternoon Dirk noticed there have been few comments recently so thought id better rectify the matter re-Mark Holder i had always been under the impression that this was a reliable service but that he specialised in the jumps with the flat not being so good-please enlighten me also what do you do if you get advice from different services for the same race presumably back both ?
on another matter not only Chelters next week but cricket world cup on thursday a marvellous match between Zimbabwe and Ireland id had my eye on this match for a while was hoping to get 3s on the Irish as i reckon theyve got a decent chance with Zims current state however my cover was blown yesterday when Ireland gave Safrica a nasty shock managed to get 7/4 which i still think is fair i think it should be evens the 2, I can see myself being the only person engrossed in this whilst the World hurdle unfolds -and no prizes for guessing what ive backed in that!

Dirk - good to see that the P/L is looking healthier than it was a few months ago. All looking good for the profitable Spring and Summer months to come.

Interesting that you are basing a few of your bets on the potential heavy ground at the Festival. Looking at the weather forecast for the next 7 days and the fact that Cheltenham is a quick draining course I can't see it being slower than soft come Tuesday and perhaps G/S come Friday. All depends on the forecast being right of course but a few sunny, drying days will make a lot of difference.

hi drever ,
MH on the flat specialises in 2yo,s , i have not got last years figs around but last flat season was profitable although not spectacular . yes it inevitably happens that from time to time i get differing advice in the same race , not an ideal situation and in the past i have tried to bet with a little help from yours truly ........... but last year i decided to play each service on its merits not picking or choosing so i now bet them just as if they were in seperate races if you get my drift !
yes will be cheering the irish on next week , i had a mate who played for them as he was at essex but he got dropped last season and his form last summer did not warrant a recall which is a shame .
i was pleased to see ryan ten doeschate do well today a really nice fella who really works at his game i hope he has a decent world cup .
good luck next week i hope drever wins by 30 lengths !!!!!

hi there mr/miss/mrs anon !!!
yes cheltenham is one of the best/fastest draining courses around i see unsettled weather up until tuesday although im no expert i believe the water table is so high at present its gonna be a soft ground festival not a marsh but proper soft ground .
cheers for your comments and all the best for the festival .
