is a phrase i like to adhere to with regard to my betting , and after racing today one month on from the start of this blog i have decided to make a few changes , these concern the isiris insiders and my own personal trading . as stated before im a old stager with regard to isiris first joining in 1998 at present there is no consistency , well other than they are consistently below average ! all services go through bad times but as a old timer i remember when the good old days and i feel now that the cream of isirs is being diluted we have the main service , mark your card , losers line and now the odds to text service , i am not a lover of this scattergun approach , so until cheltenham im easing back on the insiders to £100/pt from my present £200/pt , cheltenham i will revert to £200/pt and carry this staking plan throughout the summer until arc weekend . my other changes relate to isiris in a way ,in the past i have supplemented my income by arbing their selections but increasingley their selections drift as todays did and the hits that i take on this wipe out to a large extent the small profits i make and the risk/return ratio to me does not add up . lastly one of the many faults i have is that i sometimes over complicate my betting strategies and today was a costly example of this , in the 3.15 newb i had negatives for papini from 2 respected judges so instead of layinng it in the win/place mkt i decided to go via the spreadbetting route as i had positives for quatre heures , i sold papini in the matchbet scenario on the spreads , papini was duly beaten but quatre heures whose chances were done no favours at the start was unsighted and a max loss on the spreads was my punishment .............

yesterdays profits were returned with interest as hits were taken on my arbing strategies on voy poy ustedes who drifted like a barge 4.2-7.0 and time share 3.5-4.3 , i bought quatre heures over papini in a match bet , overall costing me £485.71 and a rethink.............. half the battle is admitting you were wrong the other half is making sure you dont make the same mistake again !!!!

Hi Dirk i see you have mentioned this odds to text service i saw a thread on the bfair forum a few weeks ago which looked as if KB was bigging up his first winner a MJ horse whose name escapes me but the price was 9-2 -i thought at the time that the whole thing was a wind up but i presume it does exist as youve now mentioned it -i think its very poor as members are currently suffering a poor run we could have certainly done with a 9-2 winner on the main account cheers
dirk Im surprised at the size of your stakes. Any tipster worth following has to make 100 points a year surely. Does MH alone not easily do that most years? So 30,000 would equate to £100 a point for all 3 services. You seem to be expecting a very low ROI with your current staking.
Oh, and if the points range is 1-10 as Optimum was, then Id expect a minimum 300 points profit a year! My expectation from these 3 tipsters if their record and promise is anything to go by would be a joint profit of at least 400 points so £75 a point should be enough!
hi drever , i totally agree i believe the text service had a 2/1 winner on the aw this week , i would settle for a 9/2 insider winner let alone a 9/2 main account winner !!! regards DD.
guesser , a couple of things my stakes have built up over the years increasing each year ,as my profits have increased so i increase my stakes , they have now reached their maximum level as i would struggle to get the prices if they were increased further . this blog was devised after some friendly banter on the betfair forum , each year my target regarding my p/l is £30k using the 3 services and my trading , i was told on the forum it could not be done so i started this , so £30k is a profit level i attain to but i expect to easily surpass this and dispel the doubters . i think you have misunderstood the theme of this blog , its a challenge that i was told could not be done , going by my past records im extremely confident it will be easily attained . Oh ,why use smaller stakes to maybe get £30k when after previous years profit i can use larger stakes to maybe provide a £50k income ! what would you want ?
