revolved around trading the optimum selection viscount bankes as i missed the 4/1 that was available but 7/2 was freely around so i layed @ 4.6 on the exchanges knowing that i had a safety net @ 7/2 with the bookies it held at the level trading 4.8/4.9 after i had been filled @ 4.6 then happy days non runners the reduction factor kicked in my position at the start of the race was £200 @ just over 9/2 on a 5/2 fav sadly galway had too much pace as the selection finished second . on the advice of the MH message i backed not a problem £50 @ 2.18 in the place market and then sold rebelle @ 2.5 in a match bet with not a problem for £20/length , rebelle failed to complete with not a problem second it produced a profit of £350 and on the day a profit of £406.93 .

we're in bournemouth , beautiful clear blue skies every thing looks perfect but the subject of plumpton races has not been mentioned since a week ago when it didn,t get a frosty response more like an icy glare dont you dare response ................ so at brekfast i was summoning up the courage when my french waiter mate pierre dropped 20 or so plates , the fuzzy hangover head of mrs d immediately disappeared and a big smile was visible , here goes ............. after last nights exertions perhaps the lads were right im getting too old for all this !!! but a blinding night but today (sunday) didn,t start too well got down for brekkie at 9.55 bloody good effort i thought only to be told by some smug french twerp that it was indeed 10.55 and the clocks went forward went last night , well excuse me pierre whilst you were smoking snails or catching frogs legs last night i was partying away and sadly no they didnt say "righto boys n girls dont forget to put your clocks forward !!" was about to have a coronary on the thought of no brekkie when a delightful danish girl came to the rescue and said we only have bacon , sausage , mushrooms available as all the cereals have been packed away ............... young lady does it look like i have been brought up on a diet of special k & fruit n fibre ........... ok you dont have to answer that one ! so my karma and blood pressure levels returned to normal and we cracked on with our tour of bournemouth .

all centred on two races near the end of the day the hunter chase 4.25 new where andrew was keen to oppose the fav scots grey , when isiris duplicated the selections i took that as a sign that he also wanted to take the fav on ............... so in for a penny in for a pound i doubled my lay not the greatest idea id had in hindsight as stamina and track concerns were emphatically dispelled and a loss of £430 was administered as £175 was layed @ 3.57 , a little more success in my next play the last couple of runs by rowan warning on the aw gave me the impression he needed a step up in distance he ran in the 5.20 ling i backed him for £200 @ 12/1 and layed back £150 @ 11.5 giving me £50 @ 17.5 and in the place mkt i backed him for £80 @ 3.68 he just managed to hold onto 3rd after just about seeing out the extra distance ................ perhaps he needs 11f !!!
a loss of £266.72 on the day .
im off to bournemouth tomorrow for a few days taking in a concert and plumpton on monday .......... gotta drop that into the conversation to the mrs at some point over the w/e !!!!

cheltenham 2007 over and out ................
well thats that then !!! taking my punting hat off say from a purists point of view and i would say that cheltenham 2007 was a brilliant meeting and 100 pct success plenty of cracking races with close finishes only one equine fatality that i know of it would be wonderful to report none but after last year, one has to be seen in a positive light . from a punting view one word FRUSTRATION !!!! i forgot to mention nina de sivola yesterday who was staying on in the 4miler but came down 2 or 3 out ,but the fences are there to be jumped but it was a IF ONLY meeting for me . slight anti climatic feeling as i type this but with aintree and the start of the flat season to look fwd to im sure that wont last .....................

after yesterdays disaster on the distances it was frustrating to see the first couple of races won by a total of 21 lengths , and with fancied runners popping up my irritation increased as i was long £5 @ 256 agg winning sps . i played in the second race i realise you will go skint faster than a sinking titantic backing 6/4 shots at the festival but i really fancied wichita lineman i had £250 @ 2.66 giving me a profit of £300.48 . in the next my only lay of the week kauto star i had the position of laying £320 @ 10/11 , bar the last he jumped brilliantly and stayed on well to the line , hands up i was wrong and in those circumstances i deserve the loss of £290 . the final make up on agg winning sps were 306.4 giving me a profit of £252 and a profit of £362.48 on the day .

this is becoming a frustrating meeting ...............
juveigneur , twist magic , aces four and today the enigmatic our vic who got going too late , and with the listener looking a doubtful runner it does not look like improving roll on uttoxeter this saturday !!!! the isiris max trading bet was a bit of a farce but no damage was done and i went into the race with a chance of winning £360 for ntg so cant complain a nice 20/1 insider winner but lets keep our fingers crossed for a bit of rain ................
thought id mention that kauto star is 5/2 with betchronicle.com they are huge rails layers backed by dermot desmond so they are not a mickey mouse outfit , the 5/2 is available up to eur200 approx £135 as i speak he is 2.72/2.74 so a bit of value or small arb , its up to you - be lucky all !!!

well the day started well i had bought £10 @ 290 aggregate winning sps so if granit jack was not to win i wanted an outsider ............ a 40/1 winner will do !! i had backed granit jack £150 ew @ 20/1 ante post and had a all green position on jack , finishing second made me £304.62 , a win and it would have been over £1000 and out of the frame would have be a profit of £100 . the arkle was frustrating isiris had selected twist magic ew @ 20/1 and i had backed dont push it £50 ew @ 11/2 , disaster struck two out both were travelling well but both came down thankfully both horses looked unscathed . the champion was a frustrating race as i could not believe the price of detroit city ridiculous, but i have decided to take time out laying after a few recent set backs and i stubbornly stuck to my guns , i had backed straw bear ante post £300 ew @ 9/1 & 10/1 ew i layed him for the £300 ew giving me a risk free potential profit sadly the horse was pulled up , my personal fancy was hardy eustace and i had traded this one on betfair leaving me £100 ew @ 8.0/2.8 , hardy was in the first three right up until the last strides when pipped for 3rd spot by afsoun , but if that was frustrating it was nothing compared to the next race with optimums selection juveigneur ........................ i backed altihar ew in the last £100 ew @ 12/1 with pp who were offering places for the first 5 , he split the pipe runners giving me a clean sweep on the last giving me a small personal profit of £204.62 on the day and a nice position on the aggregate sp's i sold mailto:£2@315 so i am long £8 @ 283.75 and after day1 we have a i/r total of 116.5 i may look to sell £3 later tonight .

nice try ................
an apt and most welcome winner on a 6 nations rugby weekend , got me out of a hole but more of that later on .............

a couple of things before the daily p/l , apparently they had a strong odds to bet today .......... can anyone confirm ? well if i was a saturday only client id be pretty pi$$ed off win or lose , im a everyday client and im not happy !! i have done my own thing on the listener re the gold cup but boothy was a bit out of order today with his laying off advice today , for starters the market was suspended due to the decs and secondly lay @ 8/1 ............. excuse me the market was 9.8/10 £134/91 so i can understand any members frustration if they struggled to comply with mr booths advice .................

the bottom line at the end of the day is a loss of £386 plus the cost of a bunch of flowers ............ and a decision to steer clear of laying for the time being , my only lay next week will be kauto star in the gold cup , there you go its in b&w NO LAYING NEXT WEEK , it seems to be my achilles heel at present - MH was not overly keen on albertas run in the first at sandown i layed £175 @ 6.0 looking to trade nearer the race, i backed him for £110 @ 7.0 as he drifted , i was pleased with my trading but not the result , perhaps i shud have greened up but i wanted to take a view, i did and a loss of £215 to boot ......... my other trade involved gaspara i backed him with the bookies for £150 @ 7/2 and layed £225 @ 4.09 ............... just as the mccoy ridden gaspara passed the post in front mrs diggler had the audacity to turn the hoover on , sadly my frustration boiled over and the hoover got a kick and a few choice words !!! i called time out and went to the florists .......... i hope the hoover appreciates the flowers !!!

simply the best ...............
better than all the rest by tina turner greeted the successful isiris callers last night ............. to be honest he can play any song he likes and that includes the crazy frog song if he advises a 6/1 winner !!! a rare call back for MH but a unsuccessful one ,overall a disappointing day and annoying not to press on after yesterday but was pleased to see kb hold fire , i like that and credit to the team .

im continually amazed .................
by people s greed and naivety when it comes to gambling/investments and sadly today in the post (p19) there was another example with a sum of £25,000 lost to a fraudster involving a promise of doubling/trebling money invested .i am not trying to be clever or smug those who know me could vouch to that ........... i have been there and learnt my lesson as i will describe later and i now live n die by the saying "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is " i would bet 1.01 that it definately is and thats a 1.01 shot that wont be gubbed !! always do you own research on the service you may be thinking of joining , xyz in the post may advise 3 winning bets on the trot but take a step back and ask yourself ............. how easily are the prices attained ? how about before the 3 winning bets ? try and ask current members about the service, this is easily done thesedays with the various forums about, try and get 12 months worth of results , my day revolves around the 3 messages i receive with my laptop loaded up with all my bookies so i stand a decent chance of "getting on" at the best possible prices, the bottom line is all about fine margins ,in the long run its so important to make the effort of getting the best price possible, i can ring the call back times without fail other people cannot due to their employment , this is a important issue to take into account as these services move the markets .
so how did i learn my lesson ................... well it was the early nineties i was a big player of the spreads i had a decent liquid lunch and noticed a snooker market that had reached the semi final stage one player looked like going home he was 71/72 with one firm and 76/77 with another on the tournament indices , i bought at 72 and sold at 76 for my max allowed , this is a piece of pi$$ i thought !! i got home deposited some margin money and "arbed" some more ,i remember a phone call made to a spread company "hoping for a recovery from macmanus sir ?" i just said yes , but was thinking to myself no im just having some "free" money ............... well mcmanus duly lost and i counted my decent profit of 4 x my stake
a week or so went by and i got my statements through one showed a profit the other a larger loss ............. the buy @ 72 made up 70 minus 2 pts and my sell @ 76 made up 75 yes 75 !!!!!! a profit of 1 pt i was not playing on a level playing field , it was not a huge hole but i felt an idiot !!!
two lessons learnt .............. never play whilst drinking and no such thing as "free" money !!!

a quiet day personally non too successful either ............. i played in a couple of races place laying silistra in the 4.15 font and diamond vein in the 4.25 catt both on concerns from MH , well silistra won and diamond vein was unplaced , not too much damage and it could have been worse i could have layed them in the win mkt but i try to have a 5/1 cap on laying in the win mkt , silistra cost me £170 laying £80 and i won just over £60 having £62.5 matched on diamond vein @ 3.4 , a loss of £110 on the day .

i will really miss going to upton park ........
next season , always a great atmosphere with chirpy n colourful banter between the supporters and today was brilliant and im not talking about the spurs comeback just a enjoyable exciting match , it was just as lively in the streets after the match !!! a quiet day on the punting front for me , managed to get on the isiris selections although i was at liverpool street at the time , i didn,t need to trade the listener bet as ive personally already done that , i have £200 win @ 15.5/1 and £200 place at 9/2 which im happy with , and i have layed kauto star @ 6/4 approx for £400 but i,ll go into more detail nearer the time .

caused havoc going by the forum and i sincerely hope not any of you got burnt , if you did or didn,t , and use betfair or betdaq for that matter on a regular basis please make sure you have a back up exchange site , if you havn,t make it a priority next week to have a second exchange account . i use betfair they are quite simply number 1 in terms of liquidity and that is what a exchange lives or dies on but they often have shutdowns due to "upgrades" so thats when i use betdaq who are a more than adequate number 2 , a exchange monopoly is in no ones interest apart from betfair that is !!! so do yourself a favour and get a second account would be my advice .

isiris gave out one insider lemonette 1/4 pt ew @ 14/1 the horse made a most pleasing uk debut not being put into the race but steadily staying on into 4th , that night i put the horse into my horses to follow stable on easyodds ................ this morning i had received my reminder email from easyodds stating the horse as a runner . a study up at the gym this morning clearly showed it as a 2 runner event and it would be interesting to see if boothy and his team play , this has every appearance of a main account bet .well they did play in the race but with the johnston horse !!! , that puts a spanner in the works especially with him having a handle on the form with the easy first winner soldiers quest ..............

i copped out of a decent bet in the 2.10 wolv much to my disgust after the race !!! just £60 ew lemonette @ 5/2 but a winners a winner , but i must admit it didn,t feel like that after the race . i traded a couple of match bets on the spreads on the back of the messages from optimum i was left buying £10 of launde over jacks craic with launde receiving 5.2 lengths , launde unfortunately was taken on in the lead and was unable to dominant finishing 6th and sustaining a max loss of 15l but taking the 5.2l off my loss was £98 , in the 3.40 optimum was none too keen on the chances of the luder a horse i remember from its previous run at fontwell where he did not look too keen to me i laid £50 in the place mkt @ 2.06 and again traded a match bet opposing the luder with sha bian leaving me with a £10 sell of the luder , with sha bien receiving 2.1 lengths , sha bien 2nd beat the luder by 8 1/2 l and a profit of £106 on the race . overall a profit of £217.51 on the day personally .

well i started the day £120.62 in credit after last nights fa cup match , i had traded arsenal laying £200 @ 2.16 and then i back them £50 @ 3.05 and £25 @ 6.6 to give me a all green book and a profit with rovers winning of £120.62 . MH was keen on the chances of basic fact in the 3.10 lud i backed the mccoy ridden basic fact @ 4/1 £100 ew and on the spreads i was quite agressive buying £40 of basic fact over pearly star getting 1 1/2 lengths , everything during the race was going to plan with basic fact travelling strongly and pearly star not .............. pearly star was pulled up .................. happy days !!!! thats £660 in the bin .................... NOT !!!!! as basic fact stops as shot and fails to complete the course voiding my bet . my other bet involved the evan williams highland games £75 ew @ 4.9/1.91 MH was keen on this but the trainer form must have been a concern , well all connections must have been relieved as he passed the post in front giving me a profit of £348.12 on the race and £268.74 on the day .
a couple of cheltenham ante post bets - another in the champion hurdle i backed straw bear £200 ew @ 9/1 , my thinking behind this is surely jp is gonna claim ap ............. isnt he ? ap is his retained jockey flying all round the uk at gaff tracks to ride his horses well whats the point in this if he doesnt use the no 1 jump jockey for the champion ? for me its a no brainer and once ap is announced as straw bears mount he wont be a 9/1 shot , i think its significant that the magic sign have straw bear a 6/1 shot .
my second bet is a little speculative , granit jack in the supreme novices hurdle £150 ew @ 20/1 , the going on day 1 im positive will contain the word soft in its description , granit jack will appreciate it , looks like that walsh will choose granit over kicks for free and i can see this going off @ 10/1 .
i will be hoping to trade these on betfair nearer the time .
